The Grass Roots Music Foundation

The Grass Roots Music Foundation works closely with our school to reinforce positive behaviours, raise self esteem and create an atmosphere of emotional and physical safety for each student. They use the powerful and healing tool of music to positively impact the personal and academic lives of our students.

Grass Roots Music offers a safe sanctuary for students to explore and express themselves through music; teachers aim to provide a program that guides children to focus their energy and attention. It offers an outlet for frustration and anger by providing a classroom free from judgement, where the student’s ability is neither graded nor streamed.

Grass Roots Music teachers aim to build meaningful and trusted relationships with each student, which continues for the entirety of the student's school journey. They aim to give each student a life long musical skill and to make them aware of tools and strategies to manage their emotions.
